GySgt Jagger Roche
Gunnery Sergeant Roche is a native of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina, in August 2015. Following his graduation from Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, Private First Class Roche attended the Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV) Crewman Course at Camp Pendleton, California, where he earned the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 1833, AAV Crewman.
In March 2016, Private First Class Roche was assigned to Company D, 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, in Twentynine Palms, California. While assigned to Company D, he deployed twice to Okinawa, Japan, in support of the Unit Deployment Program. In November 2017 he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal.
In December 2020, Sergeant Roche was assigned to Company E, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, MCRD San Diego, California, where he served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. In June 2022, he was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant. In July 2022, Staff Sergeant Roche was assigned to Company G, where he served as a Chief Drill Instructor.
In January 2023, Staff Sergeant Roche reported to Company B, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, and served as a Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander, and Company Master Gunner. In October 2024, he was assigned to Company A, where he served as a Platoon Sergeant. In March 2025, Staff Sergeant Roche completed the Operator New Equipment Training for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV), earning the primary MOS of 1834, ACV Crewman. In June 2025, he was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, where he served as the Battalion's Assault Amphibian Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (AATOPS) Administrator for the Department of Safety and Standardization (DOSS).
In March 2026, Gunnery Sergeant Roche assumed his current duties as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor for the University of Arizona Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC).
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Gold Star in Lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
