College Program

High school seniors seeking to attend the University of Arizona or Pima Community College, as well as current freshmen or sophomores at these institutions, can apply to the University of Arizona NROTC College Program in lieu of a Naval ROTC scholarship. College Program students will be able to participate in all the same NROTC activities as scholarship students (with the exception of summer training cruises) as well as have their uniforms and Naval Science course textbooks provided without having to sign any contract. However, the College Program will not pay students a monthly stipend and will not cover any costs of tuition or other costs of attendance. College Program students must obtain a scholarship or Advanced Standing at least two years before graduation to commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy or 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, or they will be dropped from the NROTC program. College Program students will have many opportunities to continue to compete for three or two year scholarships as well as Advanced Standing. Deadlines to apply to the College Program are July 15th for the Fall semester or November 15th for the Spring semester, as well as May 31st to apply for Advanced Standing.
